Still Holding a Leon County Mail Ballot? It Must Be in the Elections Office's Hands by 7 P.M. Tuesday
With the request deadline long past and Election Day two days out, Leon County's elections office says a completed mail ballot must be received by 7 p.m. on November 3 to count - and a ballot with a signature problem can be cured until 5 p.m. on Thursday, November 5.

Leon County voters who are still holding a vote-by-mail ballot are out of safe mailing time. Under the county's published 2026 General Election Guide, a completed mail ballot must be received by the Supervisor of Elections by 7 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3 - a postmark does not extend that deadline - so hand delivery is now the reliable route.
The elections office, at the Leon County Elections Center, 2990-1 Apalachee Parkway, also notes that a voter can pick up a mail ballot in person up to and including Election Day, and that ballot status can be tracked through BallotTrax email and text notifications or the county's Voter Information Lookup. The office can be reached at (850) 606-8683.
One more deadline matters after the polls close: a voter whose mail ballot has a signature issue has until 5 p.m. on Thursday, November 5, to cure it, according to the county guide. Voters who would rather vote in person can still use any of Leon County's 10 early voting sites on Sunday, the final day of early voting, or their assigned polling place on Tuesday.
