Florida Early Voting Passes 5.14 Million Ballots Cast With the Final Leon County Day Still to Come
As of October 31, 5,142,654 Floridians had cast ballots - 3,248,285 in person and 1,894,369 by mail. Registered Republicans accounted for 40.7 percent of ballots cast and registered Democrats 37.7 percent, by registration, not by candidate choice.

Florida's early vote has passed five million. As of October 31, 5,142,654 ballots had been cast in the state, according to the On Point Politics tracker compiled from state election offices via civicAPI - 3,248,285 of them in person during early voting and 1,894,369 returned by mail.
By party registration, registered Republicans accounted for 40.7 percent of the ballots cast so far and registered Democrats for 37.7 percent, with the remainder cast by voters registered with minor parties or no party. Those shares describe who has voted, not how they voted: Florida does not report candidate choices until Election Day counting begins. The state's own Division of Elections file through October 30 stood at 4,956,134 ballots returned, up 229,641 in a single day, before the newer October 31 count took the total past 5.14 million.
The calendar now splits by county. Florida's mandatory in-person early voting period ran through Saturday, October 31, while counties that chose to add days - Leon County among them - continue through Sunday, November 1. After that, the only remaining route is Election Day itself, Tuesday, November 3, when voters must use their assigned polling place with polls open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
