Election Day in Leon County Is Tuesday: Polls Open 7 to 7, at Your Assigned Place, With ID in Hand
Early voting is over. On Tuesday, Nov. 3, Leon County voters go to their own assigned polling place - not any early-voting site - between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., and anyone in line at 7 p.m. still votes.
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3, and the rules change from the early-voting weeks that ended Sunday. The Leon County Supervisor of Elections says polling places are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and any voter waiting in line at 7 p.m. is allowed to vote. Unlike early voting, when Leon County voters could use any of 10 sites, Election Day voters must cast their ballot at their assigned polling place for their precinct.
Voters can find that assigned place on their Voter Information Card, at LeonVotes.gov, or by calling the elections office at 850-606-VOTE (8683), the Tallahassee Democrat's voter guide notes. Voters must bring identification when they vote in person. Emergency voting is available from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day at the Elections Center at 2990-1 Apalachee Parkway, according to the Supervisor's Election Day page.
Mail ballots face the same 7 p.m. deadline: a vote-by-mail ballot must be in the Supervisor of Elections' hands by 7 p.m. on Election Day to count, so hand delivery - not the mailbox - is the safe route on Tuesday. The ballot Leon County decides Tuesday runs from the governor's mansion and the U.S. Senate race down through three Tallahassee City Commission contests, including the mayor's race.
