Man Hospitalized With Gunshot Wound in Latest Tallahassee-Area Shooting, Sheriff's Office Investigating
A man arrived at a hospital off Thomasville Road with a gunshot wound early Sunday, the Leon County Sheriff's Office says. His injuries were not considered life-threatening, and investigators do not yet know where he was shot.

A man was hospitalized with a gunshot wound early Sunday in the latest shooting in the Tallahassee area, according to the Leon County Sheriff's Office. The Sheriff's Office received a call around 7 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, about an adult man who had arrived at a hospital off Thomasville Road with a gunshot wound, a Sheriff's Office spokesperson told the Tallahassee Democrat.
The man's injuries were not considered life-threatening. Authorities did not immediately know where or how the man was shot, and no other details about the circumstances were immediately available. Because investigators have not yet determined where he was wounded, it was not immediately clear whether the shooting occurred within Tallahassee city limits or elsewhere in Leon County, and the Sheriff's Office - rather than Tallahassee police - is investigating.
Sunday's shooting brings the toll to at least 17 people shot in seven incidents since Oct. 24, according to the Democrat's reporting, a stretch that began with the Oct. 24 shooting near Florida A&M's homecoming game that injured 11 people, including six children, and included Saturday's fatal shooting at Jackson Lodge on Apalachee Parkway. So far this year, 14 people have been killed and 48 have been injured in at least 53 serious shootings in the capital city and Leon County, according to the Democrat's analysis.
