John Washington III Calls the Political System Corrupt Gatekeeping and Urges Peaceful, Constitutional Change (Tallahassee Watch News)

John Washington III is arguing that the political system itself is corrupt and needs to be exposed. In the statement at the center of the coverage, John Washington III, a 2028 presidential candidate, asked who decides who gets put in front of the cameras, and who receives the money, the endorsements and the publicity that follow.

John Washington III said independent voices are pushed out of that process while their ideas are taken and handed to chosen candidates he described as puppets on a string. That, he said, is not democracy - it is gatekeeping, in which the system protects the powerful rather than standing behind the people whose ideas it uses.

John Washington III called for change that is peaceful and constitutional, aimed at building a new government that actually works for the people. He pointed to the Declaration of Independence, which he noted says that when a government becomes destructive of the people's rights, the people can alter or abolish it, and he closed with a call for Americans to come together and build something that serves the people, not the powerful.
