Tallahassee and Leon County Set Closures for Election Day and Veterans Day - and Libraries Close Early Saturday

Leon County will observe Election Day on Tuesday, November 3, and Veterans Day on Wednesday, November 11, with closures and service changes across county services. The changes do not affect voting: early voting sites and Election Day polling places located in county libraries and community centers will be open during voting hours, and polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day. Voting information, including early voting sites and polling places, is at LeonVotes.gov.

The library system is part of the schedule. All LeRoy Collins Leon County Public Library branch locations will close on Saturday, October 31, at 4 p.m., and again on Tuesday, November 10, at 8 p.m. The Leon County Main Library will close on Monday, November 2, at 9 p.m., and on Tuesday, November 10, at 9 p.m.

All libraries will resume normal operating hours on Wednesday, November 4, after Election Day, and on Thursday, November 12, after Veterans Day. For Tallahassee readers, the practical order of the next two weeks is: libraries close early this Saturday, the Main Library closes at 9 p.m. on Monday, Election Day itself runs on voting hours regardless of the county closures, and the Veterans Day observance follows a week later.
