Tallahassee Sunday Weather: Morning Feed Brings the Rain Back, High of Only 71.7 on the First Day of Standard Time (Tallahassee Watch News)

Tallahassee woke up on the first day of standard time to the wettest forecast of the weekend. The station's live Open-Meteo feed, read at the Weather Desk's 05:00 Sunday file, put the city at 69.4 degrees and overcast, with Sunday coded 61 - rain - a high of only 71.7 degrees, a low of 66.4 and a precipitation chance of 48 percent, the highest of any day this week.

The rain is a Sunday story, not a week story. Monday turns mostly cloudy and much warmer, with a high of 79.5 and the rain chance down to 7 percent, and Election Day on Tuesday stays mild at 78.3 degrees with drizzle code 53 and a 27 percent rain chance - weather that should not keep Leon County voters home. Wednesday is the week's next wet day, coded 95 for thunderstorms with a high of 77.3 and a 23 percent rain chance.

The warm-up builds from there: Thursday reaches 84.3 under overcast skies and Friday 84.5, before Saturday cools back to 76.9 with an overnight low of 59.4, the coolest night in the seven-day outlook. Sunday's rain, in other words, is the last cool, wet day before a warm and largely dry stretch carries Tallahassee through Election Day and the rest of the week.
